Minneapolis-based Capella University is to offer a course in information assurance and security as part of its BSc in information technology.

Rationale for the new course is the increase in national security issues, Sarbanes-Oxley and the whole range of regulatory regimes, and increasing privacy concerns.

Another driver is the need to keep information security jobs onshore. All aspects of IT security are covered including technological, business and communication skills required.
